Alcaraz Asensio Antonio

Prof. Alcaraz received his medical degree in 1983, followed by his PhD in 1987, both at the University of Barcelona. After 5 years residency in urology at the University Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, he became a member of the Spanish Board of Urology in 1988. He did a Research Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester (USA) in 1993-94. He has been Head of the Transplant and Oncology Unit of the Department of Urology at Fundacio Puigvert. Since February 2005, he is Chairman of the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. Currently, he is Professor of Surgery at the University of Barcelona. He was Chairman of the Transplant Section of the Spanish Association of Urology from 2004 to 2008. At present, he is the General Secretary of the Association. Prof. Alcaraz’s major research interests include Major Urological-Oncological, Laparoscopic and Transplant Surgery as well as Cancer Genetics. He is author of 92 International Publications and just as much Spanish publications. Prof. Alcaraz is member of the Board of the European School of Urology, Corresponding Member of the American Urological Association (AUA), Editorial Board of the European Urology, Professor of the European School of Urology and Member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association of Urology. Prof. Alcaraz received several Research Grants from the Spanish Government.

Bastian Patrick

After graduating from Medical School in 1998 he started his residency in Surgery and Urology at the University of Bonn, Germany (Prof. Dr. S. C. Müller). In 2003/2004 he underwent a Research Fellowship at the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, USA. In 2006 he became part of the faculty in Bonn and was promoted to Associate Professorship in 2007. In 2007 he accepted a position at Department of Urology, Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universitiy in Munich, Germany (Prof. Dr. Christian Stief). He is board certified for Urology, Urological Oncology and Andrology. Patrick J. Bastian is a member of numerous national and international urological and oncological associations. He serves as a reviewer for many national and international urological and oncological journals including European Urology, The Journal of Urology, Cancer, International Journal of Cancer, Gut and Clinical Cancer Research. Furthermore he serves as a member of the Editorial Board of European Urology and Debates on Bladder Cancer. For his molecular and clinical research, Dr. Bastian has won more than 25 national and international awards, including the awards for the best paper at the AUA and EAU, the C.E. Alken award and the Maximilian Nitze Award. He has published more than 130 papers in peer reviewed journals.

Bossi Alberto

In 1988, Dr. Alberto Bossi obtained his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pavia, Italy. Between 1989 and 1990, he worked as clinical fellow at the Department of Radiotherapy of the Circolo Hospital in Varese, Italy. In 1991, he worked as clinical fellow at the Radiotherapy department of the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Dr. Bossi specialized in 1992 in Radiotherapy and Oncology at the University of Pavia, Italy Between 1991 and 2000, Dr. Bossi was an assistant in Radiotherapy at the S. Anna Hospital in Como (Italy). From 2000-2001, he worked at the Radiotherapy unit at the S. Pio X° Hospital in Milan (Italy). He was then appointed Adjunct Clinical Head at the Department of Radiotherapy of the University of Leuven, Belgium where he worked from 2001 to 2006. He is currently Clinical Head of the urology section at the Department of Radiotherapy of the Institut Gustave Roussy in Villejuif, France. Dr. Bossi is member of several scientific organizations and societies, including the European Society for Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ESTRO), the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), the Italian Association of Radiation Oncology (AIRO) and the Radiation Oncology group of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). He is a teacher at both the European School of Oncology and the European School of Radiotherapy. In 2006, Dr. Bossi was elected as coordinator of the Genito-Urinary Working Group of the EORTC. Dr. Bossi is reviewer for several journals, including the International Journal for Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics, the Annals of Oncology and Tumori.

Buntrock Stefan

Stefan Buntrock is the director of the Klinik am Kurpark in Bad Wildungen, one of the largest centers for rehabilitative urology in Germany. He graduated from medical school at the University of Göttingen in 1999 where he also studied Scandinavian Languages. He received doctoral degrees in both fields. During his study in Göttingen, Oslo and Reykjavik, he was awarded a scholarship by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for exceptional academic achievement and outstanding social commitment. Urologically, he has been trained in Iceland, Sweden and Norway. His main urological interests are prostate and bladder cancer. Stefan Buntrock is a member of the Strategy Planning Office of the European Association of Urology, Fellow of the European Board of Urology, and a member of several national and international urological organizations.

Chlosta Piotr

Institute of Oncology, Kielce, Poland

Dr. Chlosta is head of the Department of Urology at the Institute of Oncology, Kielce, Poland. He is surgeon since 1995 and works as consultant urologist since 1998. Dr. Chlosta is member of several scientific associations, including the Polish Urological Association, the European Association of Urology, the American Urological Association and the Societe Internationale d’Urologie. He is section editor for the international literature review of the Polish Journal of Urology. He is also member of the Residency Review Committee of the European Board of Urology and secretary of the Education Committee of the Polish Urological Association. His main professional and scientific interests are urological oncology and laparoscopy. Dr. Chlosta is author of several original and reviewed articles and book chapters. He is married and has a beloved son of 14 years old.

De Meerleer Gert

Prof. Dr. Gert De Meerleer is staff member at the department of Radiotherapy at the University Hospital in Ghent, Belgium. He graduated in medicine at the University of Ghent in 1994. Following an internship at the Ghent University Hospital, he became a specialist in radiotherapy in 1999. From 1999 to 2000, he was part-time resident at the department of Radiotherapy and Oncology at the O.L.V. Hospital in Aalst, Belgium. In 2000, he obtained his PhD at the University of Ghent, where he also worked as a post-doctoral research fellow until 2006. Prof. Dr. De Meerleer is responsible for urological and gynaeco-pelvic malignancies at the Radiotherapy department in Ghent. He also coordinates two fundamental and clinical research funds concerning prostate and cervical cancer in this hospital. He is director of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) multidisciplinary teaching course on prostate cancer and teacher at the ESTRO teaching course on image-guided radiotherapy and at the European Kidney Cancer Association meeting. In addition, he is a member of the European Association of Urology committee on guidelines for the treatment of pain. Prof. Dr. De Meerleer is (co-)author of over 40 peer-reviewed papers and has received several grants and awards for his research. He is a member of several national and international scientific and medical societies, including ESTRO, the genito-urinary group of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, and the Belgian Association for Radiotherapy and Oncology.

Gomez-Veiga Francisco

Dr. Francisco Gómez Veiga studied Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), where he obtained his PhD in Medicine. During 1988-1993 he completed his internship training in urology at the University A Coruna Hospital, where he received his degree as MD. From this period on, his main activities have been concentrating on kidney transplant and Uro-Oncology. At the moment he is acting as coordinator of the oncology section. Dr. Gómez Veiga received training in different European and US hospitals concentrating on different techniques and aspects of kidney transplant and oncology, particularly prostate cancer. He has been the coordinator and member of the steering committee of more than 30 clinical trials, mainly focusing on the various aspects of oncology. Dr. Gómez Veiga is co-author of more than 85 published national and international articles. Also, he has collaborated in the publication of 16 books related to kidney and uro-oncology. He is peer reviewer of the urological journal “Actas and Archives of Spanish Urology” and member of the scientific committee of the Spanish guidelines on prostate cancer. Dr. Gómez Veiga has received awards from the Spanish Urologial Association, European Urological Association and Société Internationale d´Urologie as recognitions for his outstanding publications and presentations.

Govorov Alexander

After graduating from Medical School in 1998, Alexander Govorov started his residency in Urology at the Department of Urology of MSMSU in Russia led by Prof. O. Loran. In 2001 he did a Clinical Fellowship with Prof. L. Boccon-Gibod at the Department of Urology of the Bichat Hospital in Paris. In 2002 he obtained his PhD from MSMSU. He accepted a position of Associate Professor of Urology at the Urology Department of the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry (Prof. D. Pushkar) in 2003. He is board certified for Urology and Oncology. Dr. Govorov is a member of the EAU, AUA, SIU and the Russian Associations of Urology and Oncology and a Board Member of the European Society of Oncological Uology (ESOU). In 2006 he has won the Russian award for “The valuable contribution to Russian Urology”. Alexander Govorov’s primary clinical interest concentrates on operative and conservative uro-oncology, and particulary on prostate biopsy and minimally-invasive treatment of prostate cancer. In 2003, he was the first HIFU specialist in Russia and in 2010 he performed the first cryoablation of the prostate in Russia. He has published in several medical journals, wrote chapters of books, participated in many academic and clinical trials and he presented at numerous national and international congresses.

Heidenreich Axel

Axel Heidenreich is Professor of Urology and Chairman and Director of the department of Urology, University Hospital, RWTH Aachen, Germany since December 2008. He received his medical degree from the University of the Health Sciences, San Antonio, Texas and the Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz. Prof. Heidenreich’s main interest concentrates on operative and conservative uro-oncology, andrology and microsurgery and plastic/reconstructive surgery. Prof. Heidenreich has published more than 200 articles in peer reviewed journals and he has published several books on prostate cancer and urologic surgery. With regard to his basic research work in molecular pathogenesis and prognosis of urological malignancies, he was awarded with several prices including the prestigious Maximilian-Nitze-Award of the German Association of Urology. Prof. Heidenreich is board member of the Association of Urological Oncology of the German Cancer Society, board member of the German Testicular Cancer Study Group, board member of the “German Prostate Cancer Guideline Group” and board member of the German TNM classification group of urogenital cancer. He is chairman of the “Prostate Cancer Guidelines“ of the European Association of Urology and board member of the European Society for Oncological Urology of the EAU. He is also member of the editorial board of European Urology.

Incrocci Luca

Luca Incrocci is a radiation oncologist and sexologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Erasmus Medical Center-Daniel den Hoed Cancer Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He received his M.D. in 1992 at the University of Pisa, Italy, and then joined the University Hospital Rotterdam to complete residencies in the Departments of Urology and Radiation Oncology. Dr Incrocci is a member of several scientific societies including the European Association of Urology, the American and European Societies for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the European and International Societies for Sexual Medicine. He is actively involved in the teaching and research of fellows and students. Dr Incrocci is a manuscript reviewer for a number of international journals and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine. He is guest professor at the University of Pisa, Italy, Department of Andrology. Dr Incrocci is the treasurer of the International Society for Sexual Medicine, and is the author of more than 70 peer-reviewed papers, reviews, book chapters and abstracts. Recently he has co-edited the book: Handbook of Sexual and Gender Identity Disorder.

Irani Jacques

Prof. Jaques Irani studied medicine and received his PhD in clinical epidemiology and statistics. Currenly, he is Professor of Urology at the University Hospital Centre « La Milétrie », Poitiers, France were he qualified in Urological Oncology. His main research interests in this field are Uro-oncology. Prof. Irani is member of several national and international associations and societies including the Uro-Oncology committee of the French Association of Urology (AFU), the Scientific committee of the AFU, and the Board of the European Association of Urology Guidelines Committee. Prof. Irani is also member of several Editorial boards, including European Urology, Progrès en Urologie Formation continue and Annales d’urologie. He is also Member of the Executive Board of BJU International. Prof. Irani published over 140 publications in both national and international journals.

Lapini Alberto

Dr. Alberto Lapini studied medicine at the University of Florence, where he specialised in Urological Surgery. From 1991 to 1996 he worked as an Assistant in Urology at the Urological Department of the University of Florence (Prof. A. Costantini). From 1996 until now he worked at the same hospital (Prof. M. Carini) as senior member and since 2005 as chief of the oncology section. His main topics and research interests in Oncology are conservative surgery for kidney tumours, treatment of non muscle invasive bladder cancer and treatment of localized and advanced prostate cancer. Dr. Lapini is member of several national and international associations, including the Italian Urological Society (SIU), The Italian Society of Urologic Oncology (SIURO) in which he is member of the steering committee, and the European Association of Urology (EAU). Dr. Lapini has published over 130 publications in both national and international journals. Dr. Lapini has received awards from the Italian Urological Society, European Urological Association and American Urological Association as recognitions for his publications and presentations.

Lechevallier Eric

Prof. Eric Lechevallier studied medicine at the University of Marseille, where he specialised in Urological Surgery. Between 1991-1995, he worked as an Assistant-Hospital Chief. He followed several exchange programs in the USA including the European Association of Urology/American Urological Association Academic Exchange Program (1995, John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore; Bowman Gray Hospital, Winston-Salem; Washington University, St. Louis; MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston), Urology Prectorship Program (1995, Denver), Post-graduate course of Urology (1996, New York) and the Preceptorship Program (2004, Cleveland). In April 2000, Prof. Lechevallier became University Professor at the Salvator Hospital in Marseille. Currently, he works in that same hospital at the Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation. His main research interests are oncology (kidney, genital organs), renal transplantation, endourology of the upper urinary tract and urinary lithiasis. Since November 2002, Prof. Lechevallier is Fellow of the European Board of Urology. He is also member of several national and international Associations and Societies including the European Association of Urology, the Society of Endourology and the European Society of Transplantation. He is the former responsible for the Transplantation Committee of the Association Française d’Urologie (AFU) ". Prof. Lechevallier published over 200 publications in both national and international journals. Currently, he is Editor-in-Chief of Progrès en Urologie.

Madersbacher Stephan

Dr. Stefan Madersbacher completed his urological training at the Vienna Medical School (chairman: Prof. Dr. M. Marberger) in 1999. At that same year, he became Fellow of the European Board of Urology. From 2001-2002, Dr. Madersbacher was senior staff member at the Urological University Hospital in Berne (chairman: Prof. Dr. U. E. Studer) and since 2003, he is vice chairman of the Department of Urology and Andrology, Danube Hospital, Vienna, Austria. Dr. Madersbacher published more that 170 scientific publications in the peer-reviewed literature, gave 300 presentations at scientific meetings and 150 invited lectures. He is consultant reviewer for all major urological journals including European Urology, Journal of Urology, Urology and British Journal of Urology. Dr. Madersbacher is member of the editorial board of European Urology, International Journal of Impotence Research and Aktuelle Urologie. Dr. Madersbacher is author of the German-, Austrian- and European BPH-guidelines. He has received 13 scientific awards for his research. His areas of scientific activity are benign prostatic hyperplasia, epidemiology and risk factors of urological diseases (lower urinary tract symptoms, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain syndrome), molecular epidemiology of BPH and prostate cancer.

Mancuso Andrea

Dr. Andrea Mancuso works as oncologist at the department of medical oncology at the San Camillo/Forlanini Hospital in Rome, Italy. He obtained his MD from the ‘La Sapienza’ University in Rome in 1998. Afterwards, he was trained in medical oncology at the National Academy of Medicine at the S.Eugenio Hospital in Rome (1997-1998) and he did a fellowship in medical oncology at the department of experimental medicine and pathology of the ‘La Sapienza’ university in Rome (1998-2003). In addition, he successfully completed a course in ‘Physician-patient communication in cancer care’ from the Swiss Cancer League (2005). He followed several specific training courses about research and therapies in oncology. Before Dr. Mancuso was appointed oncologist at the medical oncology department of the San Camillo/Forlanini Hospital in Rome in 2005, he gained experience in oncology at several other places. He worked subsequently at the thoracic head and neck medical oncology department of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, USA (2002-2003), at the pneumo-oncology unit of the department of respiratory diseases at the San Camillo/Forlanini Hospital in Rome (2003-2004), at the ‘Madre Giuseppina Vannini’ Hospital in Rome (2004) and at the medical oncology department of the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland in Bellinzona, Switzerland (2004-2005). Dr. Mancuso’s research interest is focused on translational and clinical research. He is co-investigator in several randomized clinical trials evaluating new drugs for different types of cancer. He was awarded several grants for his research, including a scholarship from the European School of Oncology Foundation and a grant from the American-Italian Cancer Foundation. He is (co-)author of 24 research articles and 5 book chapters on oncology-related topics. In addition, he acts as reviewer for several journals including ‘Annals of Oncology’, ‘British Journal of Urology’, ‘Future Drugs’ and ‘Lung Cancer’. Furthermore, he is a frequently invited guest speaker and chairman at national and international oncology congresses. Dr. Mancuso is also member of several national and international oncology societies such as the ‘European School of Oncology’, the ‘American Society of Clinical Oncology’, the ‘European Society of Medical Oncology’, the ‘New York Academy of Sciences’, the ‘American Association for Cancer Research’, the ‘American Chemical Society’ and the ‘Thoracic Oncology Association’.

Merseburger Axel

Ass. Prof. Dr. Axel S. Merseburger is currently a staff member at the department of Urologic Oncology at Hannover Medical School and the Director of the Urologic Oncology Program. Dr. Merseburger obtained his medical degree from Hannover Medical School in 2002 following a one year academic research program in Washington D.C. (Prof. Dr. Judd W. Moul) where he finished his M.D. thesis. Following residency in Surgery and Urology at the Eberhard-Karls-University in Tübingen (Prof. A. Stenzl), he underwent a Research Fellowship at Miller School of Medicine, Miami, USA (Prof. M. Soloway/Prof. V. B. Lokeshwar) in 2006. In 2008 he accepted a position in Hannover (Prof. M. Kuczyk) as staff member and was promoted to Associate Professorship in 2009. He is board certified for Urology and a member of numerous national and international urological and oncological associations. He serves as reviewer and in the editorial board for many journals and is the Managing Editor for the World Journal of Urology and Editor in Chief of “You Are Urology”. Furthermore he is a member of the two EAU Guideline groups and the Chairman of the EAU Guideline group for Lasers and Technologies. For his molecular and clinical research, Dr. Merseburger has won multiple awards, stipends and prizes. He has published more than 120 papers in peer reviewed journals.

Mottet Nicolas

Dr. Nicolas Mottet is head of the department of Urology at Clinique Mutualiste in Saint-Etienne, France. Dr. Mottet is board certified in surgery, urology and medical oncology in France. He obtained his MD and his PhD from University Montpellier I. Dr. Mottet is coordinator of the Testis and Penis cancer subgroup for the Oncologic committee of the French Urological Association and secretary of the Urologic study group for the National Federation of anti-Cancer Centers. He has published over 80 peer reviewed papers, mainly on urologic oncology and prostatic disorders. He is on the scientific advisory board of several pharmaceutical and biotech companies in urology and oncology drug development and clinical trials and has coordinated or participated to more than 35 clinical studies. Dr. Mottet has received several peer reviewed grants and is currently coordinating studies on prostate and bladder cancer. He is member of several scientific and medical societies, including the American, the European and the French Urology Associations, and the European and the American Societies of Clinical Oncology. He is also a member of the New York Academy of Science.

Patard Jean-Jacques

Prof. Jean-Jacques Patard studied medicine at the Paris XII University, where he received his medical degree in 1993. Between 1988-1993, he worked as a resident at the Bichat University Hospital, Paris (Chairman: Prof. Boccon-Gibod), the Mondor University Hospital, Paris (Chairman: Prof. Abbou) and the St Louis University Hospital, Paris (Chairman: Prof. Leduc). Between 1994-1997, he completed his fellowship at the Mondor University Hospital, Paris (Chairman: Pr Abbou). In 1996, he received his PhD at the Paris V University. Currently, Prof. Patard works at the department of Urology at the Bicêtre Hospital (Paris XI University). Prof. Patard is member of several national and international associations and committees including the French Urological Association (AFU), the French Oncology Committee for Kidney Cancer (CCAFU), the French National Cancer Institute for Kidney Cancer Research (INCA, PNES), the European Association of Urology (EAU), the EAU Guidelines Group for renal cell carcinoma and the American Urological Association (AUA). His main clinical interests are urological oncology, renal cancer, prognostic factors, adjuvant treatments, angiogenesis inhibitors, renal transplantation and end stage renal surgery. Prof. Patard published over 250 publications in both national and international journals.

Salomon Laurent

Prof. Laurent Salomon is consultant at the Department of Urology at the Henri Mondor hospital in Créteil, France. He obtained a master’s degree in biological and medical sciences, focusing on general anatomy and organogenesis at the medical faculty of Saints-Pères in Paris, France (1990) and on radio-anatomy at the faculty Broussais-Hôtel Dieu in Paris (1992). He received a diploma in surgery sciences, option oncology, at the faculty Paris V in 1993 and he was accredited as general surgeon and urologist in 1995. Afterwards, he did research on laparoscopic radical prostatectomy at the faculty Paris XI, resulting in a PhD degree in surgical sciences in 2003. Prof. Salomon is active at the Department of Urology at the Henri Mondor hospital in Créteil since 1995. He also did a fellowship at the Department of Urology at the Presbyterian Hospital (College of Physicians and Surgeons, Colombia University) in New York, USA (2002). Currently, he is responsible for the multidisciplinary consultation unit in uro-oncology at the Henri Mondor hospital in Créteil. In 2006, he was appointed University Professor at the same hospital. He is teaching uro-nephrology and surgery semiology and he is lecturer at the school of nurses. Prof. Salomon is (co-)author of about 160 peer-reviewed research articles. Moreover, he contributed to more than 20 didactic and pedagogic books. In addition, he acts as a reviewer for several national and international journals including ‘Journal of Urology’, ‘European Urology’ and ‘Progrès en Urologie’. He is also reviewer of the abstracts for the annual meeting of the ‘European Urology Association’. Furthermore, Prof. Salomon is member of several national and international urology societies such as the ‘French College of Urology’, the ‘European Urology Association’ and the oncology committee and the transplantation committee of the ‘French Urology Association’.

Schmidinger Manuela

After graduating as Medical Doctor from the Medical University of Vienna in 1992, Prof. Manuela Schmidinger specialised at the same institution in Internal Medicine in 2000 and in Medical Oncology and Hematology in 2002. In 2002, she obtained her Venia legendi in Internal Medicine and became Professor of Medicine at the Medical University in Vienna. She specialised in Intensive Care Medicine in 2008 at the Medical University in Vienna. Currently, she is senior physician at the Clinical Division of Oncology within the Department of Medicine I at the Medical University of Vienna. She is also Programme Director for renal cell carcinoma and is responsible for the generation of clinical study protocols, basic science in the field of kidney cancer and care of patients with renal cell carcinoma. She is author of 55 peer-reviewed papers and contributed to several books.

Soulié Michel

Prof. Michel Soulié studied medicine at the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, where he obtained his PhD in medicine in 1987. He was awarded with a silver medal for his thesis on “radical prostatectomy” in 1988. Between 1988-1992, he worked at the urological surgery department (Prof. F. Plante) of the same hospital. He specialised in Urology in 1994 and in Oncology in 1999. In 2003, Michel Soulié became University Professor in Urology. His main topics and research interests in Oncology are epidemiology of cancers and prostate cancer. Prof. Soulié is member of several national and international associations and committees including the French Urological Association (AFU) and the European Association of Urology (EAU). He was Chairman of the Board of Urological Pathology at the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) from 2005 to 2008. He is chairman of the French Oncology Committee for Cancer of AFU (CCAFU) since 2008. Prof. Soulié has published over 120 publications in both national and international journals.

Stranne Johan

Dr. Johan Stranne is consultant at the Department of Urology at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg, Sweden. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Lund, Sweden in 1997. Following a 1-year internship in Trollhättan, he received his medical licence in 1998. Afterwards, he became a resident at the Department of Urology at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg. He was accredited as specialist in urology in 2003, and he passed the European Board of Urology specialist exam in Urology (FEBU) in 2004. He has been active as a consultant in urology in the Sahlgrenska University Hospital ever since. Dr. Stranne’s clinical research focuses on radical retropubic prostatectomy. In 2006, he obtained his PhD from the University of Göteborg with a dissertation about inguinal hernia after urological surgery in males, with specific reference to radical retropubic prostatectomy. He published several peer-reviewed articles on this topic, as well on antibiotic prophylaxis at radical retropubic prostatectomy. Currently, Dr. Stranne is doing research as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institution for Clinical Cancer Epidemiology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. In addition, he is an investigator in several clinical studies on prostate cancer and radical prostatectomy. Dr. Stranne is member of several national and international urological societies, such as the European Board of Urology, the Endourological Society and the Swedish Urological Association.

Templeton Arnoud

Dr. Arnoud Templeton works as a senior clinical and research fellow at the Department of Medical Oncology Kantonsspital St. Gallen and for the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK) as Medical Advisor. He graduated in medicine at the university of Basel and gained his MD in 2003. He completed his medical training in St. Gallen with the Swiss board certification in Internal Medicine. Dr. Templeton received his oncology specialist training at the Kantonsspital St. Gallen. He attended the Flims Workshop Methods in Clinical Cancer Research in 2008, passed the ESMO exam in 2009 and gained the Swiss Board Certification in Medical Oncology in 2010. His major clinical and research interest is prostate cancer. He has been co-investigator in several phase I – III trials and is trial Chair of multicentre trials conducted in Switzerland. Dr. Templeton is a member of a number of societies, including the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the Swiss Medical Association (FMH).

Tombal Bertrand

Professor Bertrand Tombal is Chairman of the Division of Urology and Associated Professor of Physiology at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, Brussels, Belgium.
He has both a basic science and a clinical interest in urological oncology, particularly in the field of prostate and bladder cancer. Professor Tombal obtained his MD in 1990 and his PhD in 2003, both from the Université catholique de Louvain. During his PhD, he studied the mechanisms involved in apoptosis of prostate cancer cells and the modulation of apoptosis by growth factors. He completed part of his basic sciences training at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA.
Professor Tombal’s primary clinical interest is the treatment of advanced stages of prostate cancer, and particularly the development of new biological agents. He is heading the uro-oncology division at the Université catholique de Louvain where he is coordinating several trials in this research area.
In addition, Professor Tombal has authored many published papers and book chapters. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences and has been the recipient of various awards for his research in the field of urology, including the European Association of Urology thesis award, which he received in 2003. Professor Tombal is also a member of the Scientific Committee of European Association of Urology and of the Executive Committee of EORTC genitourinary group.

van Moorselaar Jeroen

Jeroen van Moorselaar studied medicine at the University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands and obtained his medical degree in June 1987. He continued his career as research fellow in the urological research laboratory of the Urology department at the University Hospital in Nijmegen where he did his PhD in 1991 entitled ‘Cytokine Therapy in Experimental Urological Cancer’. He was certified as urologist in June 1997. From that time he has worked in the University Hospital in Nijmegen in the urological department and in April 1998 he moved to the University Hospital in Utrecht where he worked until August 2005. In September 2005 he became the head of the urological outpatient department in the Free University of Amsterdam where he still works, but since August 2008 in the position of Chairman of the department of Urology. He is member of various national and international organizations. He is an active researcher in the field of urological oncology and BPH. He has published in several medical journals and chapters of books. He is member of the Dutch working party on urological oncological guidelines and member of the scientific committee of the Dutch Urological Association. As member of the EORTC GU group he has participated in many academic and clinical trials. Since May 2007 he is board member of the European School of Urology. Furthermore he is chairman of the video committee of the European Association of Urology and editor-in-chief of the European Urology Video Journal.

van Oort Inge

Dr. Inge van Oort completed her urological training at het Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, the Netherlands, in 2006. In that same year she started her fellowship in oncological urology and she also became part of the faculty at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre (chairman: Peter Mulders). In 2008 she was appointed as an oncological urologist and senior staff member. In 2009, she obtained her PhD on the clinical relevance of pathological findings after radical prostatectomy at the department of Urology at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. Inge M. van Oort is member of national and international urological and oncological associations. She is also reviewer for national and international journals and member of the editorial board of the world journal of Urology.
